Context

ED Seguros is an insurtech from Grupo Empreender Dinheiro that sells life insurance by combining coverage from different insurers.

The problem

Analyzing life insurance involves different coverages, rules and combinations across insurers. Each study took about 3 hours of work to produce.

The team had limited production capacity and, given existing demand, not every study could be delivered as soon as it was requested.

Design decisions

AI suggests. The professional decides.

One of the most important decisions in the project came up during the first usability test.
80% of participants wanted to adjust the suggestions presented by the AI.

This showed that even though AI speeds up the analysis, the financial planner is still responsible for the recommendation presented to the client.

That's why we made it possible to edit suggestions directly at each step of the flow, for both coverages and plans.

Another key finding was that many financial planners come from other fields. So the platform had to serve people who weren't yet familiar with the technical terms.

That's why the platform offers several shortcuts to explanations of technical concepts, both to help the user and so they can explain those concepts to their client.

Architecture

Based on the research insights, we organized the service flow into four steps, following the natural order of the conversation between the financial planner and their client. The platform is a unified solution that brings ease and confidence to planners, regardless of how experienced they are.

A complex analysis in a guided flow

Hércules cross-references the client's profile with business rules to suggest coverages and analyze combinations across partner insurers.

Instead of the financial planner manually performing different analysis steps, the platform organizes the process into a single, guided journey.
